Raining Frogs was an excellent continuation of this series and as such I wouldn't recommend reading it without the background of the first two books.. Marrok (caster), Marcus (griffin shifter), and Thorn (jaguar shifter) are mates. The story is about their coming together as a triad as well as solving problems within their territory. Magical problems that require Marrok's expertise. Not only are the dragon shifter and his children targeted, but also Thorn and Ian's mates. We learn the big picture, the details, and the steps to solve the crisis. What tips it into top marks for me is that Marrok and his mates investigate and are the ones to solve the crime. They learn of each other as mates, but also as professionals. It was nicely balanced. As their relationship deepened, so did their appreciation and understanding of each other's skills. And as a triad they balanced each other in every way.

The problems and crisis was resolved in a very satisfying manner. Even better were the glimpses into the lives of those on the farm and their children.

With this third book in the series we know that life isn't easy for those living in town or on the farm. Eventually another threat will surface, because that always happens, yet for now things are quiet. Meanwhile the curse on the gargoyles needs removing and I'm curious to see how Lynn Stark decides to solve that problem. All in all a very satisfying read. - Dan's Wife

I just loved this book. Marrok and Marcus were mates but Marcus had problems that prevented the mating with Marrok. Thorn came into their lives as their third mate. Thorn got all three of together and helped Marrok and Marcus with Thorn to complete their lives. There were problems but all three worked them out. I am waiting for the next book in this series to see what happens next. Erin
This series is fun to read. Still not a book to remember into next century, of course, but quite entertaining. In this series the author had created a world full of different kind of shifters, trolls and wizards, the obligatory fight between good and bad and many nice people.
The third book is about an old love couple, who had parted more than two centuries ago, because of disagreement about having children. The wizard Marrok would love to have one or more of them, while the griffin shifter Marcus harbours no wish to continue his bloodline. In comes their third – jaguar shifter Thorn – an even more alpha male than Marcus’ griffin.
This series is pure fantasy so there is no problem for men to give birth to a child. Therefore I am not spoiling much by telling that both Marrok and Marcus are going to have one each. There is some suspense, because they are going to solve some mysteries, but there is at least one mystery left (curse put on the gargoyles), so I am expecting at least one more book.
I loved that this was about a Griffin. It was even better when the dominant male became a willing bottom. I will admit to wishing Marcus was also put in a swing or maybe double stuffed. But I am looking forward to the next couple and what story will unfold next.
Omg this is the second time reading this and it was just as great as the first time I can't wait to read the next one again too...
This was another winner in this series...my favorite out of this trio was Merrick ...he was p powerful Warnock with a gentle soul...all he wanted was to be loved and have children...wonderful tale...off to book 4
